This guy adds to an already eye-catching team of DX-Men in this diminutive DXCC!
History says that new DA-RC Member 34DA183 Juan Carlos commenced his involvement in radio communications in 1994.
He did so with the Maik Uniform (MU) club in which he honed an impressive knack for securing rare DX.
He later involved himself with the Sugar Delta group in 2020 after a period of some 17 years inactivity but now links with the DA-RC and an opportunity to tackle the new solar cycle with a Delta-Alfa callsign.
34DA183 Juan Carlos is a licensed ham radio operator who maintains a passion for business on 27 MHz frequencies where the “real DX” occurs, as well for the 11m DX Community in general in which he’s a super popular guy!
More than 100 DXCC worked and confirmed sees him achieve DA-RC Membership via the DX Hunter category (See https://www.delta-alfa.com/about/membership/).
In modern times, the Canary Islands is home to some wonderful DX Hunters, as well as being one of the most intriguing places on the planet.

In fact, sun, sand and sea aside, 34DA183 Juan Carlos’ DXCC is famous for its rugged natural landscapes, historical significance and diverse cultures which attract millions of tourists every year.
The island of Tenerife in the AF-004 IOTA Group is where you’ll find 34DA183 Juan Carlos, his home not far from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the port city of Santa Cruz.
The largest and most populous island of the Canary Islands, Tenerife may be best known for its Carnaval de Santa Cruz, a huge pre-Lent festival with parades, music, dancing and colourful costumes.
34DA183 Juan Carlos’ island also has many beaches—with sands from yellow to black—and attractive resort areas, including Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas.
His city, Santa Cruz, is famous for its balmy beaches, nature reserves, and cosmopolitan nightlife as well.

Together with a 1 element delta-loop or bambi antenna, this package is his preferred go to weaponry for any portable work.
34DA183 Juan Carlos works in the logistics department for Mercadona, one of the leading physical supermarket and online shopping companies in Spain.
When he’s not at work earning a buck or at home, with head phones on, listening for rare DX stations, 34DA183 Juan Carlos enjoys travel, camping, photography, off-road 4WD adventures, BBQs with friends, and spending time with his wife and children.
He’s also known to make the odd antenna for portable dx work!
34DA183 Juan Carlos occupies the international call frequency, 27.555 MHz USB where his distinct CQ calls and Venezuelan accent are some of the most regular across this part of the northern hemisphere.
