The 11m and PMR Field Day (EPFD) is a vibrant international radio event that unites operators from around the world during the last weekend of June.
Participation is entirely flexible — whether you’re active for a few hours or the whole weekend, you’re welcome to take part.

This event is all about passion for radio and the outdoors.
Operators set up in true portable conditions — from parked vehicles, mountaintops, forests, beaches, or even boats.
It’s a chance to connect, explore, and celebrate the spirit of radio away from the usual shack setup.
Chasers (or “hunters”) are just as vital, working to contact as many Field Day stations as possible during the event.
There’s even a dedicated category for them.
DA-RC’s Proud Role in EPFD
Since its creation, the DX Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) has played a leading role in supporting the EPFD.
With passionate involvement from members across the globe, DA-RC Field Day stations have been activated in countries worldwide, contributing to the event’s growth and success while showcasing the international strength of our radio community.
We strongly encourage all DA-RC members to team up with friends or fellow DA operators and turn your Field Day into a social adventure.
Set up your station by the sea, on a mountaintop, in a national park, or any favorite outdoor location.
These moments make for strong signals and stronger friendships — a perfect opportunity to share the hobby in a relaxed, inspiring environment.

A Unique & Inclusive Radio Event
The EPFD is a radio sports event designed for Freeband/11m and PMR enthusiasts who love chasing DX in the great outdoors.
Like the popular ARRL Field Day (USA) and John Moyle Field Day (Australia), the EPFD encourages portable radio activity in nature — with operators transmitting via car, caravan, tractor, or boat, and using non-mains powered sources like batteries, generators, solar or wind.
Now entering its 15th year, the EPFD is not only a valuable learning experience — especially for newcomers — but also a highly enjoyable social event.
It promotes camaraderie between operators from different clubs and countries, often paired with barbecues, picnics, and shared activities like fishing, hiking, or a quick game of football or cricket.
Teams often rotate operators at the mic to allow everyone a chance to enjoy both the DXing and the outdoors.

Importantly, there are no minimum time requirements for being QRV in the field, and no limit on the number of team members, making it easy for everyone to join in.
What matters is that stations operate outdoors and use independent power sources — never connected to the mains. Examples of valid activation zones include mountaintops, parks, beaches, lakesides, and islands.
