This achievement easily ticks off membership requirements in the ‘DX Chaser’ category – See https://www.delta-alfa.com/about/membership/

Actively involved in radio comms since 1993, this “Dutchie” describes himself as “predominantly a Freeband radio operator”…

This is a band-scape in where he’s built a strong international rep for long-distance DX under.

In addition to a record-breaking 11-metre DX portfolio, 19DA138 Mark is also a licensed amateur (ham) radio operator.

He brings broad technical knowledge and operating experience across multiple areas of the hobby.

Based in Sint Anthonis, The Netherlands, 19DA138 Mark operates from the heart of north-western Europe, bordered by Germany (13 Division) to the east, Belgium (16) to the south, and the North Sea to the north and west.

The Netherlands’ long maritime tradition, flat landscapes, and international outlook have helped shape a nation deeply connected to global trade, travel, and communication—an ideal setting for an operator with a worldwide DX focus.

Sint Anthonis — Home Base in Rural Brabant

Mark’s QTH, Sint Anthonis, is a charming village located in the province of North Brabant..

It’s one known for its peaceful rural character, open farmland, and strong connection to nature.

Surrounded by forests, heathland, and cycling trails, the area offers easy access to De Staatsbossen van Sint Anthonis, a network of woodlands ideal for walking, birdwatching, and photography—perfectly aligned with 19DA138 Mark’s passion for wildlife, particularly birds.

Nearby highlights include the Maasheggen landscape, a UNESCO-recognised cultural area famous for its centuries-old hedgerows, and the scenic River Maas, which provides tranquil viewpoints and excellent opportunities for sightseeing.

The region’s quiet environment and low noise floor make it an excellent location for serious DX work…

Beyond radio though, 19DA138 Mark is an outstanding photographer, with a particular passion for wildlife photography, especially birds.

His work reflects patience, precision, and an eye for fleeting detail—qualities that closely mirror his approach to DXing.

A keen traveler, this “Nederlander” enjoys sightseeing and exploring new destinations, often combining his love of photography with a desire to experience new cultures and environments.

19DA138 Mark has previously been an active member of Alfa Charlie, Sugar Delta, and Alfa Tango, contributing his experience and enthusiasm across multiple radio communities…

As an outstanding addition to the small, high-profile DA-RC 19 Division team, this DX-Guy further strengthens an already respected group of operators, bringing depth, credibility, and elite-level DX experience to the division.

We’re delighted to welcome 19DA138 Mark to the Dx Adventure Radio Club and look forward to his future contributions—both on the air and in the field—as DA-RC continues to chase the rare, the remote, and the unforgettable!
