Our Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) is thrilled to announce an exciting upcoming holiday activity by HQ Team member 14DA001 Stef, who’ll soon be QRV from the stunning island of Martinique in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies.
Operating from one of the Caribbean’s most picturesque destinations during a 10-day stay in early August, Stef’s activity presents an excellent opportunity for DX Hunters and Island Chasers worldwide to add a highly desirable island contact to their logs.
The callsign will be 136/14DA001, in keeping with the accepted holiday style callsign allocation for 11m operations.

It forms part of the beautiful Antilles archipelago and, despite its Caribbean location, is geographically classified as part of North America.
Logistics planning submitted to his fellow HQ Team members indicates that Stef has secured ham radio-friendly accommodation in the commune of Ducos, situated roughly 10 km south of the capital, Fort-de-France.
From this location, he plans to be active during his holiday downtime, giving operators around the world an opportunity to work another DA-RC HQ Team member from an attractive and sought-after island destination.
Stef’s station will consist of a Yaesu FT-891 transceiver feeding a Bambi Quad single-element quad antenna, mounted on a 10-metre Spiderbeam telescopic mast and powered by an MFJ-4125 switching power supply…

To assist chasers throughout the activation, a Live Log will be available, allowing operators to confirm their QSOs shortly after they are made. As always, operating times will depend on propagation conditions and Stef’s holiday schedule.
DX Hunters are encouraged to keep a close eye on DX clusters for Stef’s appearance on the band throughout his 10-day activation.
