The DA-RC World HQ Team is happy to tell that 34DA101 Berto will undertake an inspiring Islands On The Air (IOTA) dxpedition to Lanzarote Island, 125 km off the north coast of Africa, in mid-November, 2024.
Nicknamed the “Island of Eternal Spring”, this fascinating place is located 11 km north-east of Fuerteventura Island and just over 1 km from La Graciosa Island—in the Atlantic Ocean—and is sure to be high on the priority list of serious Island Chasers the world over.
Last activated in 2015 according to the Islands Base Online (IBO) database, this diminutive island dxstination is the northernmost and easternmost entity of the Canary Islands, a spectacular Spanish archipelago off the coast of northwestern Africa.
A portion of the World IOTA Program’s AF-004 group, Lanzarote is nestled within a cluster of magnificent 34 Division islands, characterized by sunshine, mild temperatures and a range of outstanding natural attractions!
These include the likes of Alegranza, El Hierro, Graciosa, La Gomera, Lobos, Montana Clara and others.
