The Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) is delighted to inform you that members 14DA049 Fred and 14DA037 Viviane, with the expert assistance of 14ATS049 Anthony, will embark on a tour of Inland Water Islands (IWI) in Maine-et-Loire.
DA-RC HQ can reveal that three diminutive IWI will be activated over the course of a weekend; these being Bruneau, Ecluse and Belle Ecuelle islands.
1 of the river island entities—according to the respected Islands Base Online database—has not seen any action on the 11m band in the past!
These activities will take place on June 8 & 9, 2024, as part of the World Islands Festival (WIF).
Maine-et-Loire is found in the Loire Valley in the Pays de la Loire region.
This is a postcard-perfect department of western France and home to Bagneux near Saumur, one of the biggest Neolithic burial chambers in Europe.
In addition to several inland water islands which are located in either the Loire, Sarthe, Mayenne, Loir, and Authion rivers, the landscape of Maine-et-Loire is mostly forested ranges of hills in the south and north separated by the valley of the Loire.
