Attention IOTA enthusiasts!
The Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) is thrilled to announce that celebrated islands enthusiast 14DA028 Phil will be QRV as 13DA/O-001 from the picturesque island of Fehmarn in late June 2026!
According to the reliable Islands Base Online database, this idyllic island DXstination off the northeast coast of Germany (13 Division) has not been active on the 11-metre band since 2011, making this upcoming activation a highly anticipated opportunity indeed for island chasers worldwide!

Located in the Baltic Sea, an arm of the Atlantic Ocean, Fehmarn is a small yet scenic island renowned for its stunning seascapes, abundant migratory bird habitats, and outstanding water sports.
It forms part of the Schleswig-Holstein State East IOTA Group in accordance with the World Islands Program database.
According to the World Atlas, Fehmarn is Germany’s third-largest island, situated off the eastern coast of the country’s northernmost state of Schleswig-Holstein.

The suffix O-001 represents the regional reference and has been included to provide greater clarity regarding the island’s identity within the Schleswig-Holstein State East group.
Fehmarn shares the IOTA reference EU-128 with the nearby uninhabited island of Warder, which serves as an important wildlife sanctuary.
Remarkably, Fehmarn was last activated on the 11-metre band in 2011, some 15 years ago, by the Delta Xray group.

Fehmarn Island is famous for its spectacular natural environment and recreational opportunities, particularly during the summer months…
It’s internationally recognised, in fact, as one of Germany’s premier destinations for windsurfing and kitesurfing, with more than ten established surf locations around the island.

Phil’s portable station will consist of a Yaesu FT-857 transceiver, paired with an RM Italy KL-501 amplifier, delivering approximately 300 watts on the world’s premier DX band—11 metres.
Directional coverage into major DX markets will be provided by a Skypper antenna and a Single Loop Bambi, maximizing opportunities for fellow DX hunters throughout Europe and the Americas.
