WBA Monthly Report: June 2026

June 2026 will go down in World Beauties Award (WBA) history as the month of records and celebrations…

The combination of the first massive sporadic-E openings on the 11-meter band and the launch of the special WBA HB2 (Happy Birthday 2 Years) event literally ignited receivers across Europe.

The outcomes – some incredible dx adventures for the DA-RC teams and individual operators involved, together with the hoards of hungry DX Hunters who chased them!

Excluding activations that spilled over into the following month, the total for the month of June alone reached an extraordinary 4421 total QSOs…

This was across an incredible 22 completed activations from some of the the most fascinating natural and man-made WBA field locations!

Undoubtedly. this quantum leap demonstrates the incredible growth and momentum of the award.

WBA Evolution: June Characteristics and Sequencing

Evolution and Comparison with Previous Months

June’s evolution marked an incredible milestone for the WBA…

  1. Birthday Fever: The call of the HB2 (2 Years) event pushed hunters to chase points, bringing the monthly total to a whopping 4,421 QSOs (compared to 3,018 in May), setting an absolute annual peak.
  2. Night of Records: The 570 QSOs obtained by Sergio for Las Hogueras de San Juan represent the best individual log ever recorded in a single evening session in 2026.
  3. Portable vs. Base: Despite birthday celebrations often happening from home, outdoor activations (like Alex’s CMSB with 434 QSOs and the Spanish mountain peaks) maintained superb signal quality, proving the efficiency of summer field setups.

Conclusions + Outlook for July 2026

June 2026 celebrates the WBA’s second anniversary in the best way possible: with logs filled to the brim and spirits sky-high!

For the month of July 2026, prospects remain scorching hot.

Early month data confirms that the momentum hasn’t stopped, as evidenced by the fantastic 244 QSOs already logged on July 4th by the Spanish team at Molinos de Alcublas.

With summer in full swing, we expect an increase in activations from historical beaches, maritime lighthouses, and minor islands.

Charge your battery packs, prepare your portable stations, and get ready to answer the next “QRZ!”.

73 from the WBA Team! Happy Birthday WBA and full speed ahead toward the next pile-up!
