*MEET* 32DA002 Manu

The Dx Adventure Radio Club is thrilled to announce a new powerhouse on the bands – 32DA002 Manu from Chile, who linked with the club back in January 2025!

Shown pictured above, Manu brings decades of DX experience to our club, an unbeatable passion for the eleven-meter band in general, and a reputation as one of Chile’s most active and accomplished DX Hunters.

And even better still, Manu’s arrival as a Delta-Alfa callsign holder promises even more thrilling DXpedition stories and contacts for our global community too, given his motivation in this field!

32DA002 Manu’s journey in radio communications began back in 1992, and over the years he has built an impressive list of accomplishments—including over 100 DXCC confirmed on the eleven-metre band.

This super talented guy has been a member of the Alfa Tango and Sugar Delta clubs, and his adventures have taken him as far as Easter Island, where he activated the rare 144AT0 call (See above).

From his station, equipped with an Icom IC-7300, Yaesu FT-891, and a high-performing 4-element Moonraker antenna, Manu chases DX with precision and dedication.

He’s QRV most days on 27.555 MHz USB, the international call frequency, making him a familiar and reliable voice to radio enthusiasts around the world.

Chile, Manu’s homeland, is a country of incredible diversity…

Stretching along the western edge of South America, it borders Peru to the north, Bolivia to the northeast, and Argentina to the east, with a long Pacific coastline to the west.

From the Atacama Desert in the north to the glaciers of Patagonia in the south, Chile features breathtaking landscapes and a rich culture.

Its vibrant cities, strong scientific and technological traditions, and passionate amateur radio community make it a remarkable country for DX activity.

For serious DXpeditioners like Manu, Chile is the perfect springboard to access rare island DXCC entities across the Pacific region, including remote islands like Easter Island and beyond.

Manu resides in Pedro Aguirre Cerda, a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, within the Santiago Metropolitan Region…

This vibrant urban area places him right at the heart of Chile’s capital, with easy access to both the bustling city of Santiago and the nearby Andes.

The location offers Manu a strong connection to Chile’s thriving radio community and the cultural richness of the nation’s largest metropolitan hub.

But there’s more to Manu than just radio…

When he’s not on the air, he enjoys DJing music, travel, spending time with his family, sports, and getting off-road in his 4WD.

He also works professionally as a psychologist.

This balance of adventure, family life, and career highlights Manu’s dynamic character and makes him an even more valuable member of the DA-RC.

Manu also offers a beautiful QSL card to confirm any contact with his 11m station…

These are available via the coordinations below for a standard contribution plus SAE, providing a tangible keepsake of your DX contact with one of Chile’s top operators.

Join us in giving Manu a warm DA-RC welcome, and keep an ear out for him on the bands—you won’t want to miss a contact with 32DA002!
