An essential DX resource for the professional DA-RC IOTA Hunter or DXpeditioner is the 18th edition of the IOTA Directory (See pictured right).
This 18th edition contains the complete listing of IOTA islands as well as everything you need to know to participate in IOTA.
Included in the colour section are fascinating reports on several rare IOTA operations.
These include from Ashmore Reef, an Australian external territory in a highly sensitive area of the Timor Sea, Bhola Island and St Martin’s Island, two Bangladeshi islands in different IOTA groups, Pukapuka Atoll in the North Cooks, Busuanga Island in the Philippines and Mokil Island in the Federated States of Micronesia.
The rules have seen a major and once only restructuring to make them easier to follow.
The list of Most Wanted IOTAs has been recast to show the listing in three ways: based on contacts credited all-time, credited to those who updated in the last 10 years and to those who did so in the last 5 years.
Regular features such as the Honour Roll and other performance listings, award winners and advice on making a first application are also included.
This Directory will probably be the last paper edition to be printed.

Hi Mark. Thanks for visiting the website.
Great question! Although intended for ham radio use, the IOTA reference system is also used in the 11m DX community to identify islands and island groups. Another is the DIFM.
Many DX Hunters on 11m collect islands also, just as they do on ham bands.
Many clubs, furthermore, including the DA-RC, offer some beautiful awards to recognise the attainment of island contacts.
The IOTA Reference Directory and various online resources available to hams via IOTA World, and previous to that on the RSGB website, are an amazing source of information in general.
Thanks again for your question 🙂

So how does IOTA work on 11m? As far as i can see its a ham band only system.
Or are you only using the Island reference directory for interest only.
What I mean is, do you accredit IOTA on 11m if the reference is stated.
Im just curious how you implement it for 11m band.
Cheers Mark
