*DX NEWS* Tuvalu Islands DXpedition, Soon

Our Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) is delighted to reveal that experienced DXpeditioner 43DA001 Darren will be QRV from the “Most Wanted” DXCC entity that is Tuvalu (276 Division) in the coming weeks…

One of the utmost remote nations in the world, this unspoiled corner of the Pacific is known as one of the most eagerly sought after Oceanic DXCC entities in major DX markets (i.e. Europe and the Americas [SA & NA]).

Adding to its intrigue, Tuvalu is also the fourth smallest country in the world and the least visited!

Tuvalu is a volcanic archipelago consisting of 3 ridiculously beautiful reef islands and 6 incredible atolls.

According to the World Atlas, this scattered group of low-lying island dxstinations lies east-northeast of Temotu Province (339), northeast of Vanuatu (197), southeast of Nauru Atoll (271), south of Western, Central & Eastern Kiribati (224/266/265), west of Tokelau (275), northwest of Samoa (223) & Wallis & Futuna (210), and north of Fiji (99).

For the first week of this electrifying islandic dx adventure, 43DA001 Darren looks forward to delivering opportunities to work the major island of Fanafuti Atoll.

This is Fongafale Islet, a long narrow sliver of land, 12 km long and between 10m-400 m wide, with the South Pacific Ocean and reef on the east and the protected lagoon on the west.

In  the second part of this exhilarating dx adventure, 43DA001 Darren will also be QRV for 7 days from an All Time New One (ATNO), in Afelita Islet (OC-015).

This paradisical pocket of sand is still part of the incredible Fanafuti Atoll, but a 15 minute boat ride from the main islet.

Reconnaissance efforts indicate that Team DA-RC’s exciting Islands On The Air (IOTA) excursion of two OC-015 islands will be the first Freeband dxpedition to Tuvalu since 276AT/0 in late 2015, and before that 276/30DX401 Christian in 2004.

Such is the demand for 276 Division confirmation amongst the top echelon of IOTA Hunters in Europe, however, that it was an obvious choice for 2024.

Please note that sponsorship opportunities are available for this “Most Wanted” dxpedition which guarantees a range of special benefits (e.g. 62 page Logistics Guide, membership to the private Facebook Group, etc.); the most obvious being a direct partnership with the DXpeditioner to deliver a first class DXperience for the 11m Community.
