*DX NEWS* 235DA/DX, ITU HQ Geneva

News certain to arouse the 11m DX Community’s population of serious DX Hunters is that a Delta-Alfa branded DXpedition team will soon be QRV from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Headquarters in Geneva.

The special 235DA/DX callsign is attributed to a line-up of experienced DXpeditioners who’ll be active from this “Most Wanted” DXCC in a ‘seek and destroy mission’ for no longer than 24 hours, on April 13, 2024.

The QRZ allocated by the Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) HQ Team is based on previous activity conducted by members of our own club, and others, in the past 10 years.

Please note that for this incredibly exciting activity, the team have prioritized Asia (AS) and Oceania (OC) as these DX Markets were inaccessible during the 235DA/0 activities of 2023.

Given the small pocket of time granted to the DXpedition Team, the guys have asked that you please be sensitive to these objectives and take into consideration your past experiences with this very rare DXCC, thank you.

Surrounded by the Alps and Jura mountains, Geneva is a city in Switzerland that lies at the southern tip of expansive Lac Léman (Lake Geneva).

ITU’s Headquarters in Geneva are located overlooking the Place des Nations in the Heart of Geneva’s United Nations district.

The HQ of Europe’s United Nations and the Red Cross, the ITU is a global hub for diplomacy and banking.

As most will be aware, operations from the ITU Headquarters in Geneva are logistically precarious, hence the reason why it remains one of the rarest DXCC on any band, not only 11m.

A small window of operating time has been granted through appropriate networks and club connections from one of the three interlinked buildings, Montbrillant, the Tower and Varembé.

Despite this, however, the ongoing threat of security intervention, fines and/or possible incarceration, again, will necessitate a stealth portable station and we’re happy to reveal that the dx adventure team is well prepared for these challenges.

Please check out all the information (e.g. QSLM, links, sponsorship opportunity, grid square, etc.) pertaining to this outstanding dx adventure, and others by members of the DA-RC, in the right hand side menu under ‘DXpedition Activities’.

Here, you can also follow the exciting new ‘Live Log’ feature to check the status of your contact, as well as which stations are being heard from this diminutive DXCC entity.

Good luck to all!
