*MEET* 99DA101 Tony

The Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) is delighted to introduce to you — new member 99DA101 Tony — in the picturesque Republic of Fiji.

Tony joins our club in mid-November 2020 on the dawn of an exciting time for HF communications and a new solar cycle.

A past member of the Lima Delta club, 99DA101 Tony is a well respected, veteran 11m DXer whom easily satisfies DA-RC eligibility in the ‘DX Hunter’ category with more than 200 DXCC worked and confirmed against his name.

Cluster archives and established databases such as 11m DX Proofs confirm that 99DA101 Tony is also a proficient DXpeditioner, making him a perfect fit for our club of skilled dx adventurers.

Records show, in fact, that 99DA101 Tony has a proven record of outstanding activity in many Pacific Ocean DXCC — among them Rotuma, Samoa, Western Kiribati, Cook Islands, Tuvalu, New Caledonia and more.

Great news is that he’s committed to being QRV from some of these dxstinations in the future, too, with his new DA-RC callsign.

In current times, 99DA101 Tony resides in the Fijian capital city of Suva, a beautiful harbour city built on a peninsula reaching out into the sea.

A lush green city on a hilly peninsula, that gets more than its fair share of rain, Suva (soo-va) is found in the Central Division of Rewa Province on the south east coast of the island of Viti Levu.

This is the largest island in the Fijian archipelago and home to more than 70 percent of the country’s population.

Part of the Viti Levu and Vanua Levu group that includes islands such as Taveuni, Yanuca, Nairai, Kadavu, Vatulele, Wakaya and more, Tony’s island carries the special reference of OC-016 in accordance with the IOTA World Program and will no doubt be high on the hit list of serious IOTA Hunters around the world.

From his QTH in the heart of the South Pacific, 99DA101 Tony will be QRV from time to time on the International Call Frequency 27.555 MHz USB.

He looks forward to logging as many stations as possible on the world’s best HF band, 11m, on the back of a new Solar Cycle and vastly improved propagation.

A special full colour QSL card, designed by Stef-010 Designs on the highest quality card, is available from the QSL Manager whom is 43DA001 Darren (See below).

Standard contribution of $3US + a SAE is required thank you to cover postage costs.
