His town is called Herrera and this is located at a crossroad in the geographical center of Andalusia, less than an hour from provincial capitals such as Córdoba, Málaga and Seville, and just over an hour from Granada.
Special landmarks, including various archaeological sites and monuments, here are abundant.
The Municipal Museum (Shown right) houses a vast collection of tools and materials, used since ancient times in medicine and surgery.
The Herrera Thermal Complex is a large Roman villa where several marble pools, space heating furnaces, and seven large-scale mosaics, including one with a pugilistic scene, were uncovered. Large numbers of paintings and amounts of marble are also evident here.
Others are the Arab Fort of Alhonoz, Church Santiago El Mayor, Church La Concepción and Fireplace of Prograsa.
30DA214 Eneko’s QTH is also renowned for its cultural festivities and Herrereños locals congregate on the sidewalks, balconies and windows to view people in costumes who dance and parade down the streets.
Day of Andalusia, Passion Week, San Marcos and The Pilgrimage in Honor of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima are colourful examples.
30DA214 Eneko’s home town is also famous for its food.
Morcilla, Salmorejo, country salmoreja (with bread, oil, garlic, vinegar, eggs, pepper, and tuna), Migas, Asparagus stew with scrambled eggs, and olla con pringá, as well as baked goods such as madeleines, ochió, Tortas de aceite, brazo de gitano, pasteles de aljolí, or bollos de leche are delicious treats and provide of the best shack snacks on offer.

He uses a Yaesu FTDX 10 transciever which utilizes the Yaesu Hybrid SDR configuration — Narrow Band SDR and Direct Sampling SDR.
Alongside his modern day rig is an ACOM 1000 which adds significant punch to his audio.
This is a complete and self-contained linear amplifier that covers all amateur bands from 1.8 through 54 MHz and provides over 1000 W output power.
“For home based ham and Freeband DX work, I have a 10 m high tower with a hex beam antenna manufactured by Carmona,” Eneko reports, “And a rigid dipole for 40 m that measures 14.20 m.”
Reportedly, 30DA214 Eneko is a welder by trade.
His days are spent using heat, gas, and complex machinery such as welding guns to join metal and other substances together or repair and fill holes on metal construction.
During work and DX downtime, his hobbies include traveling, spending time at the beach, playing soccer and paddle tennis.
This latter sport is a mix between Tennis and Squash, usually played in doubles on an enclosed court surrounded by walls of glass and metallic mash.
Like most DA-RC Members who inhabit the 11m band, 30DA214 Eneko begins his quest for DX on the international call frequency, 27.555 MHz, always monitoring for new IOTA or Divisions to add to his tally of entities.
