*MEET* 30DA205 Manolo

The Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) is thrilled to introduce to you decorated ham radio operator and zealous 11m DX-pert—30DA205 Manolo—in extreme southwestern Europe.

From his personal space on the great Iberian Peninsula, in the Kingdom of Spain, 30DA205 Manolo links with our club in December 2023 via the DX Hunter category with more than 100 divisions worked and confirmed.

See details at https://www.delta-alfa.com/about/membership/.

30DA205 Manolo has more than 40 years of memories in radio communications, forged though fruitful experiences on both ham and 27 MHz frequencies.

30DA205 Manolo (Pictured right) is a well-known and popular guy whom is very active in Spain’s ham radio club scene.

In the 11m Community, history says that 30DA205 Manolo is a previous member of the Sugar Delta club.

He’s excited to begin an involvement with the DA-RC, however, at the onset of solar cycle 25.

30DA205 Manolo resides in Novelda, a fascinating town located in the province of Alicante which has a population of almost 30,000 inhabitants.

Reportedly, Novelda stands out for its modernist architecture and wine tourism.

It’s also said to be the Spanish capital of the marble industry; a town with important quarries and mines of clay, limestone, silica, gypsum and, of course, marble.

Places of interest in Novelda include the monastery of Santa María Magdalena (dated from the 19th century), which has a church designed by a disciple of Antoni Gaudí, the Moorish castle of the Mola, with its unique triangular tower, and the Museum of Modernism.

This is a well preserved art nouveau house with original artifacts from the 1920s.

There are also several natural and salty lakes.

As you’d expect of any guy with a mega on-air presence across all bands, 30DA205 Manolo has assembled a world class station with supreme access to multi-band DX.

As pictured right and below, a Yaesu FT-950 base radio with matching MD-100 microphone, as well as flashy IC-725 and IC-7610 transceivers by Icom are just a sample of high quality DX weaponry which features on his radio shack bench top.

In the space around his home, an antenna farm featuring several Cushcraft models, highlighted by a 7 element multi band monster, delivers TX signals to all corners of the globe.

These are boosted by an ACOM 1000 (HF + 6m) linear amplifier which covers all amateur bands from 1.8 through 54 MHz and provides over 1000 W output power.

When patrolling the Freeband portion of the citizens band, 30DA205 Manolo is QRV on Triple 5.

He enjoys a ragchew with mates when propagation permits and is always on high alert for rare DX.

A stunning personal QSL card for 30DA205 Manolo, designed by 14DA010 Stef, is available direct from the coordinates below to confirm any contact with his station on the eleven meter band.

Please include standard contribution and an SAE to facilitate the return of your request.
