Brought to you by the Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC), our World Headquarters Team is thrilled to announce that experienced dx adventurist 41DA981 Giovanni from New Zealand will undertake a DXpedition to this “Most Wanted” Pacific paradise in April, 2023.

Judging by Giovanni’s results in previous dxpeditions, too, unadulterated Freeband DX carnage, with all major DX markets, courtesy of a professional station, is imminent!

Detailed reconnaissance missions and targeted reference to major 11m DX databases such as Islands Base Online and DX Proofs confirm that this very special Oceanic entity has not been QRV on 27 MHz frequencies for a decade.

It therefore qualifies for a ‘0’ suffix in accordance with the DA-RC’s conventional dxpedition QRZ policy and is sure to be in the scope of DX Hunters in all major DX markets.

ABOUT NIUE

Roughly 2,400 km northeast of 41DA981 Giovanni’s home QTH on the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island, the island nation of Niue (272 Division) is shown by world maps to be located in a triangle between Tonga (96 Division), Samoa (233), and the Cook Islands (250 & 249).

At 269 km2, it’s one of the world’s largest coral islands; one with a population of less than 1500 people and very few visitors each year due to the isolation of its coconut palm dotted shores.

As well as its mesmerizing tropical island seascapes, this dxstination is known for its limestone cliffs and coral-reef dive sites; for migrating whales which swim through the country’s waters between July and October; its fossilized coral forests; deep chasms, naturally formed rock pools, caves and arches.
