Inside the United Kingdom, 26DA117 Geoff’s home is in Cambridgeshire, a ceremonial county in the East of England and East Anglia.

The world atlas shows this very picturesque region, on the eastern side of Great Britain Island, to be bordered by Lincolnshire to the north, Norfolk to the north-east, Suffolk to the east, Essex and Hertfordshire to the south, and Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire to the west.

Notable landmarks in Geoff’s local area include the Memorial Fountain in Broad Street which commemorates the Coronation of King George V in 1911; the March Town Hall and market; and the St Wendreda’s Church (Pictured left), known for its magnificent double-hammer beam roof with 120 carved angels.

At his home by the banks of the  River Nene, 26DA117 Geoff has compiled a multi-purpose station ideally suited for DX-success.

Shown above, a 5 element long boom Delta Loop antenna towers above surrounding streets in March—a Fenland market town and civil parish in the Isle of Ely area.

This provides exceptional access to all corners of the globe!

Step inside 26DA117 Geoff’s radio shack and you’ll see several transceivers on the bench, such as the IC-775 DSP and IC-756 PROIII by Icom and a TS-480 by Kenwood.

Not only is Geoff’s spirited nature evident in his Freeband DX work but it’s also obvious in his zest for the outdoors.

Socializing with mates over a quiet beer or cheering from the stands at a game of football are favourite past times.

On 27 MHz frequencies, you’ll find 26DA117 Geoff monitoring the international call frequency—27.555 MHz USB—or meandering around the band in search of illusive DX.

He is eager to exchange a QSL card to confirm any contact with his station and can be contacted via the details below.
