*DX NEWS* 131DA/0 Guyana, Coming Soon!

From April 24, the Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) is thrilled to announce that experienced DXpeditioner 3DA020 Renato will be QRV from Guyana for 131DA/0.

Guyana, or officially the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, is a very rare DXCC on the northern coast of South America.

According to the World Atlas, it’s bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, Brazil (3 Division) to the south and southwest, Venezuela (5 Division) to the west, and Suriname (73 Division) to the east.

On the word of cluster archives, only 2 operators are known to have been active from this tiny DXstination in the past 10 years — one from Kilo Papa and one from Sugar Delta respectively.

Only a very small number of stations were logged, also, therefore enabling the DA/0 callsign allocation by DA-RC HQ.

One of the least densely populated countries on Earth, Guyana (an indigenous word which means “Land of Many Waters”) has a wide variety of natural habitats and very high biodiversity.

The country also hosts a part of the Amazon rainforest, the largest tropical rainforest in the world.

English-speaking, with cricket and calypso music, Guyana is culturally connected to the colourful Caribbean region.

Its capital, Georgetown, is known for British colonial architecture, including tall, painted-timber St. George’s Anglican Cathedral.

Please check out all the information on 131DA/0, pertaining to this dx adventure, on our club’s website under the heading DXPEDITION LIST.

You can find out about the QSLM, relevant links, the operating grid square, and more, as well as others by members of the DA-RC, in the right hand side menu under ‘DXpedition List’.

Here, you can also follow the fantastic new ‘Live Log’ innovation to check the status of your contact, as well as which stations are being heard from this diminutive DXCC in South America.

Good luck to all!
