On Sunday September 2, busy Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) member 19DA109 Marcel, together with good friend 19SD160 Mike from the Sugar Delta DX Group, erected an OB7-3 Optibeam antenna on the roof of Marcel’s two story residence in the Netherlands.
As indicated by DA-RC’s big gun, a renowned antenna dxpert, this much talked about 3 band antenna works great too with some good results achieved already on Marcel’s favourite band…11m.
“The longest of the seven elements is almost 11m and the boom is 4.1m,” explains Marcel, “The antenna is also working well on 11m and has a gain of just over 13 dBi and a front to back (F/B) ratio of a massive 30 dB…”
“At 25 kg, it’s no problem rotating the antenna using my G-1000 DXC rotor too.”
For more information on this computer-designed and optimized antenna and others manufactured by the team at Optibeam, please visit the company’s website at http://www.optibeam.de/.
