*DX NEWS* DA-RC Hunters Dominate Festival

While Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) members are traditionally known for their wonderful exploits in the field of dxpedition work, results of the 2017 Islands Festival indicate we are just as motivated — and just as successful also — in the discipline of hunting rare DX.

DA-RC members, in fact, dominate the top placings in this year’s Festival with ‘big gun’ 14DA049 Fred taking top honours in the annual affair and no less than 4 DA-RC members finishing within the top 11 Island Hunters.

What an incredible result for the Club indeed!

Equally at home in the field, on the shores of a DIFM or RSGB referenced island, long time DA-RC member 14DA049 Fred was able to work an enormous 22 islands over the Festival weekend.

This remarkable feat put him in equal first place in what represents a terrific performance indeed by anyone’s measure!

In joint third spot, with an astonishing 19 island entities worked, were committed DX Hunters 14DA021 Eric and 14DA028 Phil who, like Fred, are perhaps even more famous for actually providing the rare island dx themselves.

Not far out of the leading bunch was passionate dx chaser 14DA024 Christophe in Feuchy who finished in outright fifth position with 17 islands worked.  Yet another wonderful performance by Christophe in what was an extremely competitive event in 2017!

Honourable mentions must also go to the following DA-RC members for their support and participation in this event……14DA068 Willy (4 islands), 104DA102 Syl (3), 14DA016 Rodolphe (3), 26DA007 Mark (2), 30DA012 Ruben (2), 14DA026 (1), 14DA014 (1) and 164DA101 Herve (1).

On behalf of the HQ Team, congratulations to everyone on their superb efforts and especially to the guys who were able to finish in the top echelon of place getters. We are extremely proud of you all!
