European Contest

The 2009 DA-RC European Contest is the first of its kind for the Dx Adventure Radio Club with the event set to become an annual one and one of the most exciting on the international freeband calendar.  In this event, European transmitting stations become the most lucrative contacts on the band with each EU DXCC representing a multiplier for participating contest stations.

Please read the information carefully to ensure your contest station aligns with the event’s rules and regulations. 

Contest Details

Date

  • From 27/11/09, 0:00 UTC to 29/11/09, 12:00 UTC

Participation

  • All DXers are invited to participate in the contest, regardless of DX group affiliation or DXCC location.
  • Participation categories include: 1. DA-RC Member 2. Non-DA-RC Member

Frequencies & Modes

  • 26.200 MHz - 27.655 MHz  (Note: Contesters are advised to adhere to their local laws regarding legal frequency use.  The wide frequency allocation is to ensure contesters around the world can participate freely without fear of reprisal).
  • All modes are valid

 Scoring System

  • Contacts with EU transmitting stations are worth 1 point (in or outside your own DXCC)
  • Contacts with non-EU transmitting stations are worth 1 point (in or outside your own DXCC)
  • Only one contact per station is valid
  • The total is then multiplied by the number of worked European DXCC to give a final points score

Logs

  • Standard log sheets must be used which contain the following QSO details (Date of QSO, time in UTC, callsign, frequency, mode, progressive numbers RX and TX).
  • Logs must be received by the Contest Manager by February 1 2010

Station Types

  • Single operator
  • Multi operator (3 operators) (Only one callsign is allowed during the whole contest, eg. 26DA999/Multi)

Final Results

  • Results and scores will be published on the DA-RC website and also on those of our official partners.

Prizes

  • The first 3 operators in the Single Operator and Multi operator categories for both DA-RC and non-DA-RC members will win prizes 
  • Sponsors and prizes will be announced in the lead up to the contest
