Australia Contest, Jan. 4-5, 2020

 

  • Dates: January 4-5
  • Participation: All operators, regardless of DXCC location or DX Group affiliation can participate
  • Frequencies & Modes: 26.200 MHz – 27.655 MHz (Note: Contesters are advised to adhere to their local laws regarding legal frequency use)
  • All modes are valid


SCORING SYSTEM

CATEGORY 1 (OPERATORS WITHING AUSTRALIA)

  • 1 point is scored for each contact made with an Australia based station
  • 5 points are scored for each contact with a non-Australia based station
  • Only one contact per station is valid
  • Contacts made with operators in your own state or territory are valid
  • Australian states, territories and external territories are multipliers
  • The total is multiplied by the number of worked Australian states and territories and external territories to give a final points score

SCORING SAMPLE:

43DA901 Brian works 31 Australian stations from the following 3 states: New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.

He also works New Caledonia, New Zealand, Western Kiribati, Philippines and Thailand.

  • 31 Australian Stations = 31 points
  • 5 non-Australia Stations = 25 points
  • 3 Australian States worked = 3 multipliers
  • 31 + 25 = 56 points
  • 56 points x 3 = 168 points Total

CATEGORY 2 (OPERATORS OUTSIDE OF AUSTRALIA)

  • 1 point is scored for each contact made with an Australia based station
  • 1 point is scored for each contact made with an operator in your own country
  • 5 points are scored for each contact with a non-Australia based station
  • Only one contact per station is valid
  • Australian states, territories and external territories are multipliers
  • The total is multiplied by the number of worked Australian states and territories and external territories to give a final points score

SCORING SAMPLE:

172DA109 Ricky works 27 Australian stations from the following 4 states: New South Wales, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory and Victoria.

He also works New Zealand, French Polynesia and Taiwan + 2 operators in his home country.

  • 27 Australian Stations = 27 points
  • 3 non-Australia Stations = 15 points
  • 2 home country contacts = 2 points
  • 4 Australian States worked = 4 multipliers
  • 27 + 15 + 2 = 44 points
  • 44 points x 3 = 132 points total

LOGS

  • Standard log sheets must be used which contain the following QSO details (Date of QSO, time in UTC, callsign, frequency, mode, progressive numbers RX and TX)
  • Special contest log sheets are available by email from the Contest Manager whom is 43DA001 Darren
  • Logs must be received by the Contest Manager by 1 February 2020

FINAL RESULTS

  • Results and scores will be published on the DA-RC website, www.delta-alfa.com
  • Prizes
  • All operators who submit logs will be awarded Participation Certificates
  • The first 3 operators in each category will win certificates
  • Other prizes will be announced in the lead up to the contest
