*MEET* 136DA104 Christian

Our Dx Adventure Radio Club (DA-RC) is delighted to welcome 136DA104 Christian from the Windward Islands who joins our group in July 2016.

One of the Caribbean’s most active DX Hunters, Christian has a distinguished involvement in 11m activities through previous association with the Sugar Delta DX group.

Christian’s home is located in the south of the Island of Martinique (Also called “island of the flowers”).  Referenced as NA-107 by the Radio Society of Great Britain, Martinique is a rugged Caribbean island that’s part of the Lesser Antilles and an overseas region of France.

Part of the archipelago of the Antilles, Martinique is located in the Caribbean Sea about 450 km northeast of the coast of South America and about 700 km southeast of the Dominican Republic. It is directly north of St. Lucia, northwest of Barbados, and south of Dominica.

christian6Christian is a skipper on holiday chartered tour cruises around this area of the Caribbean.  With Christian tourists discover the beauty of the various islands that form one of the most beautiful places on earth.

During his various trips, Christian is often very active as a maritime mobile station on the eleven meter band.

His marine mobile station consists of an ICOM 706 transceiver and an Antron 99 vertical antenna.

When 136DA104 Christian is operating from his home, the equipment he uses for his Dxing is an ICOM 706 and a 2 element Yagi beam.

Away from the buzz of radio communications and an obvious attraction to the sea and maritime navigation, Christian enjoys observing local wildlife, meeting people and traveling.  It’s this same love of adventure that makes him and our own Dx Adventure Radio Club the perfect fit!
